Alhaja Adijat Titilade Malik FNIM, MBA
I hold a higher National Diploma in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. I am a Fellow of Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM).
I started my Accounting career with the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan as an account clerk in 1969, i subsequently moved to the United Bank of Africa (UBA) in 1973 where i rose through the ranks to become the Branch Operations Manager and later retired in 1998.
During my 25 years at UBA, i held strategic roles within the Organization and was actively involved in policy formulation, management accounting, financial accounting and client relationships.
In furtherance of my career in banking, I assumed the role of Non-Executive Director at the Trans International Bank (TIB) now Heritage Bank, from 2000-2002. During this period, i worked in various committees in charge of Business Development, Credit and investment, audit, debt recovery and budget planning. Subsequently, First Trustee Nigeria ltd a subsidiary of First Bank Nigeria Plc appointed me as a Non-executive Director from 2010-2013 where i worked alongside other directors and boards members, to provide strategic directions for their investment business.
Following my retirement from UBA, I was able to focus on my long running passion for assisting the less previleged and inspiring the girl child to excel beyond societal expectations of a woman’s role. In 2004 I was appointed as the Oyo State coordinator for Women Trafficking and Child Labour eradication (WOTCLEF). During this period i observed the extents to which young girls and women are exploited and abused due to their vunerability and poverty, I realized these young women needed Immediate support and access to opportunities. This prompted me to establish Mother and Girl-Child Protection Initiative (MAGI) in 2012 which was duly registered with Corperate Affairs Comission (CAC) in the same year. The NGO was officially launched in February 2014.
MAGI is also registered with the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Children and Social Welfare. We are also a member of Child Protection Network (CPN) Oyo State Chapter, a conglomerate of NGO’s protecting the welfare of children established by UNICEF.
I am a devout Muslim and an active member of the federation of Muslim Womens Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) Oyo State Branch. I am the Ameerah of Oluyole Muslim Community (Alasalatu Women Group) Oluyole Estate Ibadan.
I am happily married to Professor S.H.A. Malik and we are blessed with children.
